How to Celebrate Dot Day

International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration, began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds, the author of The Dot. I love this book and the meaning behind it so I created a resource just for you to use if you'd like. I will also be wearing a polka dot dress and of course Minnie ears to match. Let's give our students something to look forward to this week.

It’s hard for me to imagine teaching an entire unit without project-based learning. If you’ve spent any amount of time browsing my socials throughout the years you’ve likely seen a theme I’ve incorporated into my lesson. This didn’t just begin a few years ago but my ENTIRE career I’ve been implementing project-based learning themes for my students.

I loved popping up in class with a new theme for the day tied to a lesson I wanted to implement that day. This particular outfit was an opener for #internationaldotday before reading the book to my class.

Are you a project-based learning educator? Stay tuned this month for ways you can incorporate it more into your lessons.
Here's the link to the resource you can use and I also bought the book The Dot from Amazon.

This resource is a reading activity guide for the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. It includes the following:
